GHAPO’s goals include:
Promotion of Abstinence as the no 1 choice in preventing life altering situations like unwanted pregnancies, STI’s, HIV, abortions to mention a few.
Education of varying contraceptive methods to promote child spacing, body healing, awareness of side effects with initial management
Encouraging families to have just the number of children they can feed educate and train and not become a social or financial burden for family and state and explaining the associated happiness and peace of mind this brings to the family
Empowering women to be more involved in decisions relating to the maintenance of optimal self health and engaging in preventive health practices that promote life
Introduction of female condom which hopefully will empower women in a culture where men resist use of male condom yet most times are initiators of the sexual act.
As this program continues we hope to also collect data which will give us better insight into the sexual habits of our respondents and possibly find better interventions to curb the rapid spread of STI’s HIV in the African population while decreasing maternal mortality by promoting child spacing.
